Tekening van paardenhoofd toegeschreven aan Arina Hugenholtz

Arina Hugenholtz (1847-1934) werd ‘La grande dame’ genoemd van de Larense school. Door haar vele internationale contacten kon zij met succes bemiddelen tussen Amerikaanse kopers en de in Laren (Noord-Holland) woonachtige kunstenaars. De schilder Anton Mauve (1838-1888) was bevriend met haar vader. In die hoedanigheid gaf hij haar vaak adviezen en had zodoende een grote invloed op haar leven en werk. Haar werkzame periode strekte zich uit van 1863 tot 1934. Vanaf 1886 vestigde zij zich op advies van Mauve in Laren. Linksonder gesigneerd “AH Fecit Dec. 1871”. Deze met wit opgehoogde tekening is 62 x 45 cm groot. Prijs op aanvraag.

Arina Hugenholtz (1847-1934) was ‘La grande dame’ of the so called ‘Larense school’. Due to her many international contacts she could successfully mediate between American buyers and in Laren (Noord-Holland) based artists. The painter Anton Mauve (1838-1888) was a friend of her father. In that capacity he gave her often advice and had a great influence on her life and work. Her active period stretched from 1863 until 1934. From 1886 she settled on the advice of Mauve in Laren. Signed lower left “AH Fecit Dec. 1871”. This white raised drawing is sized 62 x 45 cm.
