Afmetingen 35 x 25 cm. Prijs op aanvraag

Book with anatomical studies by Reyer Stolk

Johan Antonie (Reyer) Stolk (1896-1945) was born on Java (Indonesia). He studied from 1910 in the Netherlands to include the Kunstnijverheidsschool in Haarlem. His teachers included Chris Lebeau and Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita. They described Stolk as their most accomplished pupil. He was not only a gifted graphic artist, but also a painter, sculptor and inventor of airplane patents. Stolk was not real commercial set. So he exhibited not often. This “Atlas for figuurteekenaars” was also published only after his death. Characteristic in this book is the very different page layout. The colophon reports incorrectley that Stolk had died already in 1944 in stead of 1945. The edition of this book was 500. Size 35 x 25 cm. Price on request
