Van 1932 tot 1934 werd in Rome een grote propagandatentoonstelling (“Mostra della Rivoluzione Fascista”) gehouden over het Italiaanse fascime. De show ter viering van de tiende verjaardag van de machtsovername door Benito Mussolini (1883-1945) trok 4 miljoen bezoekers. Mussolini en zijn beweging benadrukten het ‘moderne’ karakter van hun beweging door gebruik te maken van avant garde kunst en architectuur. Deelnemende kunstenaars/architecten aan de show waren onder meer Dino Alfieri (directeur), Luigi Freddi, Cipriano Efisio, Mario Sironi, Enrico Prampolini, Gerardo Dottori, Adalberto Libera en Giuseppe Terragni. Dit Engelstalige boek heeft toebehoord aan een Nederlander die in de zomer van 1934 de show bezocht. Zijn naam (Hendrik Kool) staat vermeld in bijbehorende boekje dat als vervoersbewijs voor de trein gold en dat diverse kortingsbonnen bevat. Book ‘Exhibition of the Fascist Revolution’ 1933
From 1932 to 1934 in Rome a major propaganda exhibition (“Mostra della Rivoluzione Fascista”) was held on the Italian fascism. The show celebrated the tenth anniversary of the seizure of power by Benito Mussolini (1883-1945). The show drew 4 million visitors. Mussolini and his movement emphasized the ‘modern ‘ nature of their movement by using avant garde art and architecture. Participating artists/architects to the show included Dino Alfieri (Director), Luigi Freddi, Cipriano Efisio, Mario Sironi, Enrico Prampolini, Gerardo Dottori, Adalberto Libera and Giuseppe Terragni. This English book has belonged to a Dutchman who visited the show in the summer of 1934. His name (Hendrik Kool) is mentioned in the accompanying booklet that functioned as train ticket and which contains various discount coupons. This booklet (11.5 x 8.5 cm) is still completely intact and is stuck in the book. Eleventh print from 1933. Size 24.5 x 17 cm. Price on request
